Michael Benso
Michael didn't come from software. He came from the gym floor. Before building Buzops, he spent two decades running one of the largest privately owned fitness networks in the country — through recessions, pandemics, and every operational mess you can imagine.
He built FMG in 2009, grew it to 100+ gym locations across five states, and exited in 2022. He co-founded Eco Gym in 2011 — the world's first human-powered 24/7 gym chain — and exited in 2021-2022. At peak, he was managing 300–400 staff, 90+ PT studios, and more than 100,000 clients.
He holds a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from Southern Illinois University and has completed coursework at Harvard Medical School. He's worked with the world's top fitness equipment manufacturers, traveled to China for product development, and built systems that ran gyms while he was asleep.
Buzops is the platform he built because everything else on the market was designed for someone else's problems.
